WILLEMSTAD – The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (ESKD) has announced that all schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 28, 2025, due to the ongoing unstable electricity situation across the island.

Minister Sithree van Heydoorn emphasized that the decision was made in the interest of safety and to minimize disruption caused by the power outages that began earlier this week.

Further updates on the resumption of classes will be provided as soon as the electricity supply has been fully stabilized.

The government thanks students, parents, and school staff for their patience and cooperation during this challenging period.
