WILLEMSTAD - Gerrit Schotte tries to raise 1.8 million guilders through crowdfunding. With that money he wants to pay the Public Prosecution Service, which can take the same amount from him.
If he does not have the money, he will receive three years in jail on top of the three years he is currently serving. The crowdfunding goes hand in hand with a video clip.
In this video, Schotte emphasizes that he cannot come up the 1.8 million himself. Schotte’s mother, Maria Ruiz, has created the page.
The campaign is 5 days old, but no deposit has yet been made.
