The 61-year Bob Traa nominated as new President Central Bank

WILLEMSTAD - The 61-year-old Bob Traa has been nominated as the new president-director of the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. This is reported by the Dutch newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad. this morning.

Traa has been nominated by the Supervisory Board as a candidate and must first go through the screening process. Then the governments of Curaçao and Sint Maarten must decide. If all goes well, he will be appointed in a month and a half at the earliest.

Traa holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oregon. He has worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for over 32 years on macroeconomic policy issues, such as the growth potential and prospects of countries, fiscal and monetary policy, banks, exchange rate and balance of payments policy and policy sustainability.

 

He also indicates that he has extensive work experience in Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and Europe. Although of Dutch nationality, Traa did not live in the Netherlands after his studies and has been living in the United States for more than 40 years.
