WILLEMSTAD - The union representing the employees of the telecommunication company UTS are demanding job guarantee even if it will be privatized and sold to a foreigner.
Therefore, the employees and their union will be present during the parliamentary debate on the company.
This meeting was supposed to take place last year in November, but it was suspended until today. During this meeting, the Minister in charge of the telecommunication company will give an outline on the progress of the sale of the shares. The Minister of Finance will also be present.
The union complaint through a letter to the minister that they do not agree with the negotiations taking place to privatize UTS. They also indicated that they are feeling deceived by the government and the management because they were not involved in the negotiations. They feel that their participation is important to safeguard the rights of the employees.
