WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha, who is also responsible for the Gaming Control Board (GCB) recently appointed three new members to this organization. This was done with the approval of the Bureau for Supervision and Standardization of Government Entities (SBTNO).
Zuleika Lasten has been appointed as the new chairman of the organization and its financial expert. Charlton Donker is the new expert in the field of supervision and compliance with the law and regulations to combat and limit money laundering and Jamir Barton as business economical expert. The minister's motivation states:
“Lasten has financial knowledge and experience. She has years of experience in the private sector as a financial expert and has been a tax partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for the last five years. In addition, Last has been part of various committees, including vice-chairman of the Curaçao International Financial Services Association (Cifa). Donker has built up expertise in monitoring the security of digital networks and systems in combination with the application of sound business economic principles. Barton has sound business knowledge and experience. He has been working as a financial advisor in his own company since 2013 and has extensive experience in analyzing financial figures and budgets.”
In the advisory report, SBTNO also states that for the performance of the position of expert in the field of (gambling) addiction within the Supervisory Board, a candidate must be sought who has sufficient management experience in a supervisory position.
