ISACA organizes annual IT conference

WILLEMSTAD - The ISACA Curaçao Chapter is organizing a conference called " AI: The newest frontier, not the next wild west" at the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten on November 4 and 5, 2025.

With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI), organizations worldwide are facing new challenges and responsibilities. During this two-day conference, local and international experts will share their insights on how AI can be applied responsibly and safely, while maintaining control over ethics, compliance, and risk management.

"The title of the conference perfectly reflects what it's all about," says Cai Walters, President of the ISACA Curaçao Chapter. "AI offers enormous opportunities, but without proper frameworks and governance, it can quickly become a 'wild west.' With this event, we want to share knowledge and offer concrete tools for using AI safely and responsibly."

The entire program includes keynotes from international speakers, interactive panels, and practical sessions. Topics covered include AI governance, auditing, ethical frameworks, data privacy, cybersecurity in the AI era, a live Co-Pilot session, the impact of new regulations, and the effects of the advent of quantum computing.

In addition to the conference on November 4th and 5th, there will be a practical morning session by Microsoft speaker Jeroen van Heerdt on November 3rd at BlueNap Americas on the use of AI within Microsoft Power BI.

Furthermore, Esther van Egerschot, Adjunct Professor of AI Governance and Audit, will give a session on fundamental themes such as ethics, bias, responsibility, privacy, and opportunities for Curaçao. These societal topics will be the focus of the evening session "Responsible AI" on November 3, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the University of Curaçao. Admission is free for registered students.

ISACA activities are open to managers, IT professionals, auditors, compliance officers, policymakers, and students.
