American Airlines Leads in Tourist Arrivals to Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – American Airlines remains the top airline for tourist travel to Curaçao. In January 2025, the airline transported an impressive 11,000 passengers from Miami and Charlotte to the island, significantly surpassing KLM and TUI fly, which carried 10,000 and 8,000 passengers, respectively.

Curaçao is becoming an increasingly popular destination for American travelers, a trend clearly reflected in passenger growth numbers. Airlines such as Delta, Copa Airlines, and JetBlue have expanded their flights and introduced larger aircraft, leading to substantial increases in visitor arrivals. Delta saw a 552% increase, Copa Airlines recorded a 77% rise, and JetBlue experienced a 65% jump in passenger numbers.

Despite this growth, Aruba remains the top choice for many American tourists. However, Curaçao is gaining traction as an attractive alternative, with rising demand for both flights and accommodations. According to aviation news outlet Luchtvaartnieuws.nl, it is only a matter of time before Curaçao further solidifies its position in the American tourism market.
