WILLEMSTAD - Corendon has firmly dismissed circulating social media reports about a purported takeover of the Curaçaoan airline JetAir. In an official statement, Corendon clarified that these claims are entirely baseless.
"There have been no discussions, nor are there any ongoing discussions about such a takeover. The rumors are therefore entirely false," the statement read.
The clarification comes amid growing speculation online, which had suggested that Corendon was in the process of acquiring JetAir. Corendon’s categorical denial aims to put an end to these unfounded rumors and provide clarity to concerned stakeholders.
JetAir recently made headlines after the Court of First Instance of Curaçao declared the airline bankrupt. The company has been dealing with significant operational and financial challenges since its launch in November 2019, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For now, Corendon continues to focus on its existing operations and has no intentions of expanding through a JetAir acquisition.
