CUR 2024: a record-breaking year for Curaçao’s economic growth

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) proudly announces 2024 as a record-breaking year for passenger traffic, expecting to reach over 2 million passengers by the end of the year—an unprecedented milestone. This surge not only reflects CUR’s vital role in the island’s tourism but also underscores its status as a key economic growth engine for Curaçao.

In 2024, CUR contributed significantly to Curaçao’s GDP, generating substantial revenue through airport activities and employing nearly 1,800 individuals, making it one of the island’s largest employers. The airport's impact extends beyond direct operations, supporting tourism-driven industries such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation, which collectively represent over 30% of the island's GDP.

CUR also plays a crucial role in facilitating foreign exchange, primarily through stay-over tourism, further solidifying its role as a major contributor to the country's economic health.

As CUR continues to thrive and expand, its contributions to Curaçao’s economy are undeniable, marking 2024 as a pivotal year in the island’s growth and development.
