WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners, CAP, is pleased to announce being shortlisted for Routes World Awards 2024 in the under 5 million passenger movement category. The finalists in each category are voted for and judged by airlines, the category recognizes the organizations that have delivered exceptional route development marketing activities. Previously, the airport was shortlisted for a Routes Americas Award in a similar category. In addition, CUR, Curaçao International Airport is the only airport shortlisted from the Caribbean and South American region.
In the first six (6) months of 2024, CUR reached a total passenger traffic figures of 989,500, a growth of 8% compared to the same 2023 period and an overall record for the airport. The overall destination marketing campaigns and additional accommodation inventory are all coordinated in partnership.
“The success we have today, especially emerging from the pandemic, is a testament to our relentless hard work and dedication, as well as our strong partnerships,” said Jonny Andersen, CAP CEO. “We have been nominated for numerous awards, and we are hopeful to secure one this time. Nonetheless, being nominated alone speaks volumes about our achievements.”
Andersen also recognized the critical role and strong relationship with the airlines, the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), the Curaçao Hotel and Tourism Association (CHATA), and Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) in contributing to the destination’s overall success.
