Flamingo wings artwork brings joy along the road to Kokomo Beach

WILLEMSTAD - The scenic route to Bullenbaai and Kokomo Beach has just gotten a delightful addition that’s turning heads and warming hearts. Along the way, visitors can now not only marvel at the island’s famous flamingos but also strike a pose with a vibrant pair of flamingo wings crafted by local artist Siegmond van Lamoen of Vento Creations.

The eye-catching installation, made from PVC sheets, pipes, and repurposed car tires, is both a celebration of Curaçao’s natural beauty and a testament to sustainable art. Van Lamoen has placed the wings strategically along the road, allowing locals and tourists to take stunning photos with the flamingos and breathtaking sunsets as their backdrop.

A Gift to the People

Van Lamoen describes the artwork as a heartfelt gift to the people of Curaçao. “I wanted to create something that would bring joy and allow everyone to feel a little more connected to the island’s beauty,” he shared. The artist also hopes the community will cherish and preserve this unique addition to the landscape.
