WILLEMSTAD – The port of Curaçao welcomed the luxury cruise yacht Ilma today on its first visit to the island. The vessel docked at the Mathey Wharf, marking a significant milestone for Curaçao’s cruise tourism industry.
Operated by Explora Journeys, Ilma is a 248-meter-long sustainable luxury cruise yacht that can accommodate up to 922 passengers and 640 crew members. Designed with a focus on comfort and elegance, the ship features exclusively suite accommodations with private balconies, 11 gourmet restaurants, a world-class spa, and eco-friendly facilities to minimize environmental impact.
A plaque exchange ceremony was held onboard to commemorate the occasion, attended by representatives from the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB), Maduro Shipping, and Customs officials.
The arrival of Ilma highlights the growing popularity of Curaçao as a premier cruise destination in the Caribbean, further strengthening the island’s position in the global luxury travel market.
