Project on the final section of Caracas Bay Road
WILLEMSTAD - Jan Thiel may soon welcome a new resort. On a plot of 73,000 square meters, Pods Resort Holding and Exploitation plans to establish a luxury PODS Resort. This new vacation project, consisting of 258 modern POD accommodations, aims to open its doors by early 2025 and offers owners the opportunity to rent out their units to tourists.
In a special brochure, PODS Resort highlights its commitment to fully managing vacation rentals. With its own reservation system, management, maintenance, security, and cleaning services, the resort takes care of everything for landlords, including promotion through vacation rental sites and collaborations with tour operators. Additionally, owners can join a rental pool that ensures a fair distribution of rental income.
The luxury PODS, categorized into POD Sole and POD Pair types, come equipped with air conditioning and are fully furnished for short-term rentals. With four swimming pools, restaurants, play areas for both young and old, and ample parking, the resort offers extensive facilities for a comfortable stay.
According to the developers, Curaçao continues to rise in popularity among tourists from the Netherlands and the United States, contributing to a high occupancy rate. The PODS Resort aims to capitalize on this growing demand and offers owners an attractive return of twelve percent with an average occupancy of 75 percent. Various expenses incurred must still be deducted, which are payable to the resort.
Puerto Oasis
Previously, in 2009, there were plans to develop the Puerto Oasis project at the same location, but it never materialized. Several stakeholders lost their money in that venture.
In 2018, the plot was sold at auction for 5.5 million guilders, though the identity of the buyer was not disclosed at the time. The purchaser paid 700,000 guilders more than what the former Girobank had initially sought.
