TUI cancels almost all trips by another three weeks

AMSTERDAM - TUI cancels almost all trips up to and including June 18. The travel agency had previously canceled its trips through May 28. The extension applies to both TUI and Kras.

An exception applies to already booked holidays in your own country with departure from 29 May. "With this, we follow the rhythm of the developments in the holiday countries and we act jointly with the ANVR sector association," TUI writes on its website.

Travel company Corendon previously decided to wait before starting up. All trips were canceled through June 25. Curaçao and Bonaire trips canceled until July 4, for youth travel until August 31. Starting on June 26, the airline offers "corona-free" holidays to a limited number of destinations.

Travelers whose trip has been canceled will receive a voucher for the paid travel sum, which allows a replacement trip to be booked at a later date. The voucher is valid for one year from the time of issue. If the travel sum of the new holiday turns out to be more expensive, the additional cost will be borne by the customer.

There is a lot consternation regarding the vouchers. The Consumers' Association believes that customers should be able to get their money back if they want to. The advocacy organization recently urged the cabinet to stop trying to compel consumers through European law to accept vouchers for their canceled flights.
