WILLEMSTAD – The Vishon Banda Bou Foundation (VIBA) has been selected to oversee the organization of the Banda Bou Carnival for the years 2025 through 2027. The foundation made the announcement on Thursday following its successful bid in an open tender held by the Curaçao government on December 9.
A New Direction for Banda Bou Carnival
To ensure smooth preparations, VIBA has established a dedicated Task Force composed of professionals from various neighborhoods in Banda Bou, all with significant experience in event planning. The team’s mission is to revitalize and enhance the carnival while preserving its rich traditions.
The Task Force will collaborate with organizations such as Fundashon VIBA, ‘Kòrsou den Pabou,’ the Carnival Development Foundation of Curaçao (FDKK), and other local entities. Their shared vision is to modernize the carnival and elevate its quality while maintaining the cultural essence of Banda Bou.
Plans for 2025
For the 2025 edition, the organizers aim to introduce at least five new groups from Banda Bou to the parade, symbolizing a fresh beginning for the carnival in the island’s western region.
The Banda Bou Carnival has long been a cherished cultural event, and this renewed approach promises to bring both innovation and community engagement to its festivities.
