WILLEMSTAD – Low-cost airline Wingo has announced the extension of its Medellín–Curaçao route through December 13, 2025, in response to strong passenger demand and positive performance during the recent peak travel season.
Since its relaunch in June, the route has operated twice weekly—on Thursdays and Sundays—a schedule that will remain unchanged throughout the extended period.
Jorge Jiménez, Vice President of Commercial and Planning at Wingo, said the decision reflects the airline’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity. “The extension and expansion of this route are a direct response to its outstanding performance during the past high season and the significant demand from travelers interested in flying between Medellín and Curaçao,” he explained. “We want to enable more people to explore the Caribbean and Colombia with affordable fares and reliable service.”
Wingo plans to offer around 1,500 seats per month, providing more passengers with direct access between José María Córdova International Airport in Medellín and Hato International Airport in Curaçao.
The route has become a popular choice for Colombian travelers seeking direct access to the Caribbean without transiting through Bogotá or other major hubs. Its continuation also supports tourism growth and strengthens ties between Colombia and the Dutch Caribbean.
Wingo’s ongoing expansion in the region highlights its strategy to offer competitive prices paired with dependable service, reinforcing its growing relevance in the Caribbean and Latin American markets.
