Ten killed by storm Isaac

PORT AU PRINCE - Eight people dead after storm Isaac passed through Haiti. One of the victims was a ten year old girl who was buried underneath a wall. The storm left a trail of destruction behind in the Dominican Republic: there were two deaths in that Caribbean nation.

The improvised neighborhood Cite Soleil in Port-au-Prince was severely hit by the storm. Almost half of the Haitian population lives in and around the city. Streets and houses were flooded by the rain and thousands of people had to leave their homes

In the Dominican Republic Isaac demanded his toll. Two men died there because they drowned in rivers which burst from their banks. Isaac is now en route to Florida. On its way there, Isaac will probably grow into a hurricane.
