Venezuela in shock: Regime detains opposition leader

LopezCARACAS - The National Guard arrested Leopoldo López, a few minutes after he finished his speech to those present at the protest in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas.

The opposition leader turned himself in to the authorities, who ordered him to board a white tanker from the National Guard, which was located two blocks from the Chacaito mall.

López passed the National Guard blockade minutes before accompanied by journalists and few people, the rest of his companions could not pass by the police pickets.
