2018 Outstanding Woman is Leonilda ‘Ida’ Curie

2018 Outstanding WomanWILLEMSTAD - Leonilda 'Ida' Curie was recognized last Saturday during the 15th Annual Female Leadership Conference in Curaçao as the 2018 Outstanding Woman.

This recognition is to recognize and document a woman from the Caribbean, older than 60 years and the work she did benefits other women.

Her contribution to community is in various social activities and specifically with the young women in the AJMG scouting group.

She is one of the people in the Curacao community whose contribution should not be going unnoticed.

A special recognition was also given to the valuable work done by a committee of women named Wednesday Ladies during the that resulted 70 years ago in the general voting right for everyone in the ex Netherlands Antilles.

The active committee that is recognizing this important event is lead by Helga Mensing.

The symbol of the award for the Outstanding Woman is a high heel shoe symbolizing how tall the Outstanding Woman stands.
