Curaçao is part of the largest volunteer action in the world during the World Clean Up Day

World Clean Up Day Curacao Coordinators Team and VolunteersWILLEMSTAD - Together with more than 150 other countries, Curaçao will participate in World Clean Up Day on Saturday 15 September. The goal is to dispose of as much waste as possible worldwide on that day and to draw attention to the pollution problem. Meanwhile more than 2,000 people have signed up to be part of the largest volunteer initiative in the world and they will roll up their sleeves that morning to make the island cleaner and more beautiful.

Last Saturday, all coordinators from the 47 areas that are part of the project next Saturday were gathered in a well-filled Audikor auditorium. There they were briefed by the organization to ensure that the upcoming CleanUp runs smoothly.

Registration closed, participation is still possible

The deadline to register is now closed so that the organization can focus on the logistics around the groups that have registered and the locations that will be cleaned on Saturday. The organization is pleased that this year the ministries of SOAW and GMN fully support this Clean Up. Also, like every year, there are many companies that support this initiative with manpower, materials and financial resources, such as Antillean Scrap; Chogogo; CWM / JaJo; Digicel; Dyke transport; Ennia; Kooyman; MCB; Papagayo; Selikor; TrustMoore and Zanzibar. For the participants of the CleanUp, 88 Beach Club organizes an 'Afterparty' from 12 o'clock in the afternoon in Pietermaai.
