Ride for the Roses great success

WILLEMSTAD – The Ride, Swim and Walk for the Roses counted this year over 6900 participants. The event, where people can cycle, walk and swim to raise money for the fight against cancer, was a "resounding success".

Along the side were hundreds of onlookers gathered to encourage the athletes. The start of the sporting event was at seven o'clock on Sunday morning at Brionplein in Downtown Otrabanda. That’s where the runners started. An hour later the cyclists started, who followed the route of Wet & Wild to Jan Thiel. New this year was the Spynergy for the Roses, in which a group of spinning bikes, fitness equipment in the form of a bicycle, could spin for the Roses.

The swim for the Roses, which began at twelve noon, started at Zanzibar and finished at Wet & Wild.
