Scuba Lodge donates $2400 to CARF and GreenKidz

scuba-lodge-donates-1WILLEMSTAD - Scuba Lodge & Ocean Suites has donated $2,419.00 to Curaçao Animal Rights Foundation (CARF) and GreenKidz as part of their Dollar-a-Night program. Front desk staff members Eugennia Pardo and Louise Pols have handed out a cheque of $1,112.50 to Sylvia Minten of CARF and a $1,306.50-cheque to Ella Rosa of GreenKidz.

"Our Dollar-a-Night program allows us to make a positive difference in the local community," says Christina Sieperda, General Manager at Scuba Lodge. "Investing in the youth of Curaçao by teaching them about recycling and sustainability is something that we know will benefit the future of the island. The same goes for supporting efforts to change the future for homeless animals through education, rescue, sterilization, and adoption."

Scuba Lodge has also been involved in the relief effort in St. Maarten following Hurricane Irma and organizes monthly underwater clean-up dives with Project AWARE to protect the island's reef. "Our guests appreciate the fact that we're involved in the community. For us at Scuba Lodge, it's not just about tourists but it's also about community involvement,'' emphasized Sieperda. "However, thanks to our guests we are able to make these donations and we are thankful for all who are staying with us this year."

Back in January, Scuba Lodge launched its Dollar-a-Night program, allowing guests to donate a dollar per night during their stay to a local charity. Although Scuba Lodge has preselected the charities, each guest gets the final say as to where they would like the donations from their stay to go to. At the end of March, Scuba Lodge donated $2,417.00 and after the 2nd quarter of 2017, they donated $2,395.00.
