FCCA Central America Cruise Summit opens to help region actualize cruise tourism’s benefits

Cruise shipsSAN SALVADOR - The FCCA Central America Cruise Summit opened today in San Salvador, El Salvador. Taking place until May 15, the event offers local stakeholders the opportunity to attract and actualize cruise tourism by joining with cruise executives from FCCA's 19 Member Lines for a series of meetings, workshops and networking opportunities.

"This event will let attendees meet with and learn from some of the most important decision makers in the cruise industry," told Micky Arison, chairman of Carnival Corporation and the FCCA. "The region contains immense potential, and the FCCA seeks to activate it by instilling the necessary operational knowledge and forging invaluable business relationships."

"The FCCA Central America Cruise Summit epitomizes one of the FCCA's main goals-to help destinations maximize their share of cruise tourism," said Michele Paige, president of the FCCA. "The event gathers some of the most prominent cruise executives with local stakeholders to establish mutual understanding and business relationships that pave the way for future business."

The event offers a unique opportunity to target representatives from FCCA's 19 Member Lines who decide where ships call, what products are sold and used onboard, and how to invest in infrastructure. Attendees can access these key decision makers in a format that balances business sessions and casual interaction, including one-on-one meetings with executives chosen by attendees, which provide a chance to promote products and receive individualized input; social functions that foster networking and relationship building; and workshops to discuss the potential of cruise line calls, what to consider when developing a cruise facility, and how to attract cruise vessels and showcase destinations.

Additionally, the FCCA Central America Cruise Summit will showcase the Central American market's potential to attending cruise executives and form symbiotic relationships and mutual understanding. And El Salvador's own destination product will be on display throughout the event, with tours provided for attendees and executives to see what cruise passengers can see and do.
